Doctoral Support Training Program:

Awards for Enhancement of Epidemiology Applied to Maternal and Child Health Services

Maternal and child health (MCH) issues constitute a major portion of the public health agenda in the United States. The purpose of this UCLA program is to support the training, scholarship, and research skills of MCH doctoral students in epidemiology applied to maternal and child health services. The outcome of this training and education is to turn out skilled individuals who can apply epidemiology to the development of effective and efficient interventions in health care and behaviors, and provide solutions to MCH problems. It is strongly urged that doctoral projects use state or local health data so that the maternal and child health population can benefit from the funded research projects.
