Lisa Marie Stanley, MPH
Project Manager, National Survey of Early Childhood Health

Lisa Stanley has worked in the maternal and child health arena for the past 15 years both overseas in rural West Africa and domestically at the federal and local levels. Since moving to Los Angeles in 1995, Ms. Stanley has worked in the areas of strategic planning, policy analysis, coalition development and program and community-level evaluation with a focus on maternal and child health, home visiting, childhood immunizations, and children with special health care needs, and school readiness. With the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (LACDHS), Ms. Stanley served as co-investigator for a CDC sponsored study of immunization coverage levels, established and coordinated a countywide immunization coalition for Los Angeles, coordinated the development of the County’s Maternal and Child Health, five-year strategic plan, and managed the county’s local evaluation of its Nurse-Family Partnership home visiting program. Most recently, Ms. Stanley has served as Project Manager with UCLA’s Center for Healthier Children, Families and Communities which completed a multiyear, multi-site evaluation of the First 5 Ventura County initiative. The evaluation provided recommendations to the First 5 Ventura Commission on future funding strategies and was based on analysis of a number of data collection strategies designed and implemented by her unit, including a longitudinal parent survey; a school readiness assessment at kindergarten entry; and the development and analysis of a data collection software used by funded programs to track services and client-level outcomes. Ms. Stanley is currently managing the development of the second edition of the National Survey of Early Childhood Health and the activities of the International Collaborative on Early Childhoods Systems. Ms. Stanley received her Masters in Public Health and is currently a doctoral candidate at UCLA’s School of Public Health.
